Privacy Notice

Diego Fernando Saavedra Blanco, a natural person domiciled in Colombia, operating under the trade name WiseAcademy (wiseacademy.online), acts as the controller of your personal data and decides the purposes and means of such processing. Contact: saavedradiego@gmail.com.

• Account data (name, email, hashed password, role, avatar): to create and manage your account. Basis: performance of the contract.
• Lesson data (bookings, schedules, teacher, language, level, topics, video call links, credits): to provide the educational service. Basis: performance of the contract.
• Conversations with the AI tutor (messages and responses): to provide conversational practice and your history. Basis: performance of the contract.
• Support and communication data (emails, contact forms, waitlist, teacher applications): to assist you and evaluate applications. Basis: performance of the contract and legitimate interest.
• Technical and usage data (IP address, device identifiers, error logs, pages visited): security, fraud prevention, and product improvement. Basis: legitimate interest.
• Billing data: collected and processed directly by Stripe as Merchant of Record; we only retain the transaction identifier and payment status. Basis: legal obligation and performance of the contract.
• Marketing communications (if you subscribe): to send you updates. Basis: consent, revocable at any time.

• Service providers (processors): hosting and database and authentication infrastructure, email delivery, and the AI model provider that processes the tutor's messages.
• Stripe.com, our Merchant of Record, for product sales, payment processing, billing, and tax compliance.
• Teachers assigned to your lessons, who see your name and booking details.
• Professional advisors (legal or accounting) and competent authorities when required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

Some providers operate servers outside of Colombia. In those cases we apply appropriate contractual safeguards (standard contractual clauses or equivalent) to protect your data.

We retain account and lesson data while your account is active and for up to 24 months after it is closed; billing records for the period required by tax law (up to 10 years); AI tutor history until you delete it or close your account; and technical logs for up to 12 months. After that, the data is deleted or anonymized.

Under Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 and applicable regulations, you may know, update, rectify, and delete your data, request proof of authorization, revoke consent, object to processing, request a portable copy, and file complaints with the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce. If you reside in the EEA or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights granted under the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and lodging a complaint with your supervisory authority). We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures: encryption in transit, hashed password storage, role-based access control, and row-level access rules in the database, so that each user only accesses their own information. No system is infallible, but we investigate and report relevant security incidents in accordance with the law.

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and ensure the security of the site; without them the platform does not function. If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies in the future, we will request your prior consent and you will be able to manage it from the corresponding notice or your browser settings.

The service is intended for adults. Minors may only use it with the authorization and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms on their behalf.
